Blog Hiatus

I am going to be going on a bit of a blog hiatus for the next week and a bit. I am diving heart-first into a time of seeking God for a few current things that are going to take a bit more listening and wrestling.

Why the break?

Because I don't want to be tempted to write before I wrestle. With a passion for communication sometimes its hard to not...well...communicate.

See you in a week or two at the most.

brb.

Shortest Post on the Blog.

Lori's home.

Pirates - Argh.

Very, very interesting.

NOMAMMA - DAY TWO

Day Two was great.
  • Starbucks with Emma, Rob & Taetius.
  • Checked out the Thibault's RV - nice.
  • Paker showed me how to play this game.
  • KD for supper (kids not me).
  • Showered them all.
  • Popcorn/Family night movie.
  • Everyone asleep by 9pm.
I confess - I miss Lori now.

NOMAMMA - NIGHT ONE

NOMAMMA
Everything was going great...until bedtime.

Emma fully realized that Mom wasn't coming home. Then she grasped that Ally (sister) wasn't either. Our kids share a room (2 boys in one, 2 girls in the other). Emma didn't want to sleep alone. I didn't want to sleep in Ally's bed.

I thought this would simply pass.

I was wrong :-(

Here was the process for us...
  • First - woe is me set in on Emma.
  • Second - pity me set in.
  • Third - angry about this set it.
  • Fourth - Dad stepped in and gave his "enough is enough" speech.
  • Fifth - sleep set in...but not until a bit before 2am.
To Be Continued...

Although I am a bit sleepy today, it was a great night and I am not complaining. I can catch up on that sleep tonight - I hope.

Pain Beyond Words.

I read this story today and it pains me beyond words. But this isn't about me or what I feel. This is about them and what they are going through.

I don't know the Chapman's, but that does not matter.

I know the God who knows them.

Take a moment today and lift them up in prayer.

You can leave them a word of encouragement and comfort here.

Life is fragile - hold those you love close because you just never know.

Bye, Bye Lori

JASON-ALLY Lori left this morning to spend the weekend with her family in St. Catharines. That means its Daddy Day Care for the next four days.

1 Dad
4 Kids

I am outnumbered, but I can't wait. I am up for the adventure whatever it may be. Well, that might not be totally true. Lori is on call in case the other three break out with the chicken pox.

That might be a bit much. We'll see.

Ally is staying over tonight with an amazing family, but by tomorrow afternoon - its on.

I am going to try an capture some of the weekend - but that may prove difficult with four kids under 8.

Blogging Brain

I gotta confess my blogging brain feels like mush at the moment. More to the point, my mind feels like mush.

Whoa.

Revealing Lifecentre

Reveal_web This past weekend we had a snapshot of our church taken. While one can't look too deep into these numbers, as this was just a snapshot, it gives us a rough view of what is in the pew.

6.5% are currently exploring what a relationship with Christ looks like.
32.7% have recently given their life to Christ, and are growing in spiritual things.
33.2% would consider themselves devoted to Christ.
27.2% consider themselves centered in Christ.

We are using some of the stuff from Willow's Reveal Study to help our church understand one thing.

Spiritual maturity is not a one-size fits all process. The person and message of Jesus never change, but His challenge to our lives does as we grow and mature with Him and others.

If I were to break down the stats another level we could roughly say that...

39.2% are exploring or have just crossed the line of faith.
60.9% are either devoted or centered in Christ.

iPhone Cometh...Really?

Iphone3gnextmonth I have been misguided before on the release of the iPhone in Canada...officially, but it appears as though June 9th is the date.

June 7th is my birthday.

I'm just saying..
